Gen AI. Let’s learn and be curious.

I was lucky to be one of the 100+ attendees at BrXnd AI Event (hosted by Noah Brier): Marketing X AI in L.A. on the 5th of February. Here is my takeaway, 5 bullet points:

First, let’s define the context: I’m a Gen-AI user, even if clearly older than 25, and an investor, not a student, not a founder.

And I’m glad I learn at the pace of the founders that I’m humbled to back as a VC in seed stage, based in Los Angeles (http://www.fabcocreationstudio.com/).

I also discovered that I’m not like GenZ and Millennials, feeling more connected to others online. I prefer in-person meetings and gatherings!

Still, I’m as excited as they are about AI!

Will AI become the most dominant form of entertainment (meaning also content for brands), I don’t know.

But, for sure, I plan to invest more in the future and learn at the pace of improvements of the solutions (chat GPT and new others), to explore, rephrase and rewrite, have another perspective on topics, learn new skills…

What I also learned is that we need our critical thinking to be at its best.

Finally, we can find ways to be creative. It’s pretty simple. Here are the 5 bullet points:

1- Having legal on your side (for brands, it means beginning with earned media, not paid media, Instagram stories)

2- Have AI do half, even if not perfect, to save time. Don’t be ashamed of your first videos; we are all learning!

Have an Experimental Mindset: Explore, Be collaborative, Be optimistic…

And of course, keep your business/strategic literacy.

Just build things (powered by GenAI: Doc extraction and analysis, AI web search and intelligence, Advanced Voice of the Customer).

Save money, time, and resources, and make stronger decisions faster!

3- Use AI to uncover human stories, quoting fabulous Amazon guest speaker. Mike Houston (claiming “only 2 years and half AI experience, we are all just babies here!”)

4- Be aware of culture and private Tokens. Respect photographers and other creators (compensate them); in the end, machines can only be trained if the creative ecosystem is healthy and continues to generate new ideas!

5- Stay tuned on Agent-AI, for multi-step problems (and connect with the fabulous Cyril Delattre in L.A. regarding AI-agents), for more substantial outputs that require extensive expertise and inputs to complete.
